(a) & (b): As per extant provisions, the agency primarily responsible for ensuring security to railway tracks and bridges is State Government/Union Territory Administration. There is no system of handing over the new and old tracks to Government Railway Police. However, Police is informed when any new track is commissioned and old track is abandoned.
