Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIREN RIJIJU)

(a) to (d): India shares its borders with Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. For effective border security every border is guarded by a Border Guarding Force (BGF) on the principles of ‘one border one force’.
The Border Guarding Forces have adopted a multi-pronged approach including conduct of regular surveys to carry out vulnerability mapping of borders and prevent any illegal cross border movement by undertaking regular patrolling, sharing of intelligence and conduct of joint operations, with State as well as Central agencies. To further strengthen the capability of the Border Guarding Forces, physical as well as non-physical barriers have been deployed to secure the international borders of the country. Institutional mechanisms have also been set up at various levels including the apex level to ensure co-ordination with all the stakeholders.
