Question : CASES UNDER CBI INVESTIGATION



(a) the number of cases under CBI investigation which has been forwarded either by the State Governments or by the Central Government; and

(a) & (b): At present CBI is investigating 87 such cases referred by the State Governments/Central Government. The broad nature of these cases is as follows:

(1)	Offences affecting human body such as murder, abetment to suidice, attempt to murder,	abduction, kidnapping, rape & sexual exploitation etc;
(2) Offences against property such as extortion, theft, dacoity and cheating etc;
(3) Offences relating to documents such as forgery and counterfeit currency;
(4) Offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act; and
(5) Offences relating to Arms etc.
