Question : Tourist Projects Sanctioned for Kerala

(a) whether the Government has received any proposals from the State Government of Kerala for approval of tourism projects in the State;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with its status;
(c) whether the Government has any proposal to develop the tourist sites in Kerala and if so, the number of tourism projects sanctioned by the Government for the State of Kerala during the last three years, project and year-wise; and
(d) the efforts made along with the funds allocated and expenditure incurred by the Government in this regard during the said period, project and year-wise?

(a) to (d): Yes, Madam. Central Financial Assistance (CFA) is provided by the Ministry of Tourism for tourism projects identified by the State Governments/Union Territory Administrations subject to receipt of Detailed Project Reports, liquidation of Utilization Certificates for the funds released earlier, availability of funds and adherence to relevant scheme guidelines. The list of projects accordingly sanctioned by the Ministry during the last three years with status of funds sanctioned, is given at Annexure.

The State Government of Kerala identified and submitted the project for “Development of Pathanamthitta-Gavi-Vagamon-Thekkady in Idduki and Pathanamthitta Districts sanctioned during 2015-16 for Rs.99.22 Crores under Eco Tourism Circuit under Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
