Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF CIVIL AVIATION (SHRI SHARAD YADAV)

(a), (b) and (c): Operation of international flights from different airports is reviewed from time to time depending upon traffic demand and availability of custom and immigration facilities as part of ongoing process. Seven more airports have been declared as international airport which will enable foreign airlines to come directly to them. However, permission to them is granted only on the basis of bilateral air services discussions which are held from time to time. Actual operations are left to their commercial judgement. Besides Air India and Indian Airlines have also introduced some new flights and have plans to introduce more international services from Mumbai, Cochin, Calicut and Hyderabad after acquiring additional aircraft on dry lease.
