Question : INCOME EARNED BY MONUMENTS IN BIHAR



(a) the number of monuments and sites in Bihar declared as national importance;

(b) the year-wise funds spent by Government on conservation and maintenance of these monuments and sites of the State during the last five years;

(c) the income earned as entrance fee from these monuments and sites during the said period; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to provide basic amenities at these monuments and sites of the State?

(a) There are seventy monuments/sites declared as of National importance in the State of Bihar under Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958.

(b) The expenditure incurred on conservation, preservation and environmental development of centrally protected monuments/ sites in the State of Bihar during the last five years is as under:

(c) The details of revenue earned through entrance fee at the centrally protected ticketed monuments in Bihar during the last five years are as under:

(d) In addition to conservation, preservation, maintenance and development of environs in and around centrally protected monuments, providing tourist related amenities (e.g. drinking water, toilet blocks, facilities for physically challenged, pathways, cultural notice boards/signage, vehicle parking, cloak rooms, etc.) at the centrally protected monuments/sites are the regular activities which the Archaeological Survey of India undertakes as per need and availability of resources.
