(a) to (e): National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen implemented earlier as a component under Centrally Sponsored Scheme-Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries and the CSS has ended on 31st March,2020. The Welfare activities under Blue Revolution were implemented successfully with release of Rs.317.63 crores during past five years for construction of 18,596 nos of Fishermen houses, relief assistance to 13,89,162 fishers during fishing ban period and insurance coverage to an average of 41.08 lakh fishers annually. The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Fisheries Husbandry and Dairying is now implementing a flag ship scheme the “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana(PMMSY)” - a scheme to bring about Blue Revolution through sustainable and responsible development of fisheries sector in India as a part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat relief package at a total investment of Rs.20050 crores for a period of 5(five) years from FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25 in all States/Union Territories for holistic development of Fisheries including welfare of Fishermen . PMMSY focuses on holistic development of Marine Fisheries, infrastructure and Post-harvest operations for which a substantial investment has been envisaged. Besides, the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Government of India has also been implementing Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF) at ?7522 crores for development of fisheries infrastructure and post-harvest operations.
