(a): Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) assists in Khadi and Village Industries products including Tassar, Matka silk and Khadi clothes produced Khadi Institutions and PMEGP Units from all over India including the State of Bihar through the Khadi Gramodyog Bhawans run by it.
KVIC does not purchase cloth from handloom industries as Khadi is defined as “Hand spun and Hand woven cloth”.
(b): Details of the Khadi and Village Industries products purchased by Departmental Sales Outlets (DSOs) of KVIC from registered Khadi Institutions of Bihar for the last three years and current year is as follows:

(c): KVIC is implementing the Prime Minister''s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) since 2008-09 as the National Nodal Agency of the Ministry of MSME all the over the country including the State of Bihar. This is a ''credit linked subsidy programme'' for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas of the country. The scheme is being implemented by KVIC, State Khadi & Village Industries Boards (KVIBs) and District Industries Centres (DICs) in rural areas, while in urban areas by DICs only. Maximum cost of the project under the scheme in manufacturing sector is Rs. 25.00 lakh and in service sector Rs. 10.00 lakh.
