(a) As per information provided by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the details of Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and other service providers in Delhi Licenced Service Area (LSA) as on 28th February, 2015, are given below:

MTNL has reported that its present deployed networks in Delhi is lagging in terms of number of deployed Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs).
(b) TRAI has reported that call drop in network can be caused by any or combination of the following reasons:
# Equipment related problems in the radio access network
# Interference in the radio frequency, either co-channel or adjacent channel interference
# Handover failure on account of inadequate coverage or inadequate equipment capacity to handle the traffic
# Inadequate telecom resources to cope with the increased traffic on account of growth in the subscriber base.
BSNL and MTNL have reported that GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) based Cellular Mobile Service being provided by them, are working satisfactorily in their licensed service areas and are, in general, meeting the QoS (Quality of Service) parameters prescribed by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India).
(c)to (e) BSNL is augmenting its mobile network through Phase-VII expansion Project to create additional capacity of 15 million lines at an estimated cost of Rs. 4804.77 crores. This will result in addition of 14421 2G sites and 10605 3G sites across the country.
MTNL is also augmenting its mobile network to enhance coverage. MTNL is upgrading/expanding its existing 3G network, 2G/3G RF network by adding 1080 3G Node-Bs and 800 2G BTSs in Delhi and 1080 3G Node-Bs and 566 2G BTSs in Mumbai at a cost Rs. 1138 crores. Further it is augmenting M/W (Microwave) Network by deployment of 200 Mbps Hybrid M/W systems to support the enhanced data speed.
