region of Saurashtra; and

(c) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Railways thereon?

Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS

(SHRI RAJEN GOHAIN)

(a) to (c) A number of representations have been received at various level of Railway administration viz. Railway station, Division, Zonal Headquarter and Railway Board from various section of people, Hon’ble Member of Parliament including from Rajkot/Bhavnagar & Kutch / Saurashtra region as well as Government of Gujarat for introduction of trains.
Action as found feasible and justified is taken from time to time on such representations. Further, stations of Saurashtra region of Gujarat are very well connected with important stations of India and 19 pair of train services have been introduced in this area, from 2014-15 to till date. Introduction of additional train services have not been found feasible at present due to operational and resource constraints including path capacity constraints on Okha-Rajkot-Wankaner-Surendranagar, Samakhiyali-Maliya Miyana, Ahmedabad-Mahesana-Palanpur and Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Vasai Road/Vadodara-Ratlam-Nagda section.
