(a) & (b) Based on the Feasibility Study, River Chambal (National Waterway-24) has not been found viable for cargo movement. NW-24 is classified under category ‘B’ having prospects of only tourism. Development of tourism and ferry/ steamer services is State subject and not mandated with Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), an Autonomous Organisation under Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
