(a) whether the Government has reviewed the functioning of Akashvani Kendras
in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the measures taken for improving their
functioning; and
(c) the financial assistance provided to Doordarshan and Akashvani Kendras
and the amount utilised during the last three years and the current year,

(a) and (b): Yes, Sir. Prasar Bharati has informed that All India Radio(AIR)
continuously monitors the functioning of its Akashvani Kendras set up in various
parts of the country on regular basis as well as the quality of programmes broadcast
by its major stations through various means.
All India Radio continuously takes steps for improving the functioning of
Akashvani Kendras subject to the availability of funds and resources.
(c): The statement indicating financial assistance provided to All India Radio and
Doordarshan and the amount utilized during the last three years and the current year
are given in Annexure.
