(a) & (b) Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) schools,
including mobile schools, are sanctioned to States/UTs as per
the Annual Work Plan and Budget submitted by respective
States/UTs. SSA provides funds for enabling ‘hard to reach’
category of children living in unserved habitations/
platforms/street etc. to access education. In the year 2009-
10, funds were provided under SSA for opening 568 mobile
schools covering 19,204 children.
