Question : NTA Coordination Committee

(a) whether University of Delhi (DU) has constituted a National Testing Agency (NTA) Coordination Committee for the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) and
if so, the details thereof along with the composition of the said committee;
(b) whether the admission to the University will be done only through the CUCET and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether NTA has designed any curriculum for the entrance test in the University and if so, the details thereof and if not, the time by when it is likely to be designed;
(d) the manner in which it is going to benefit the undergraduate and post graduate students across the country; and
(e) whether the University proposes to grant some proportionate weightage of the marks scored by the students in class 12 examination and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e) In pursuance of the National Education Policy, 2020 the University of Delhi has decided to take admission in Undergraduate programme through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) being conducted by the NTA. Accordingly, University of Delhi has constituted a National Testing Agency Coordination Committee for CUET comprising faculties and officials representing the departments of administration, examination, admission and students’ welfare of the University.
The CUET would be held in 13 languages and the students studying in various language medium would also be able to compete. The CUET is expected to reduce the burden on students, universities & colleges and the entire education system. The students of different Boards would be assessed at the same level, giving them equal opportunity. Students may apply to more than one Central Universities, as per his/her choice, with one application form, thereby reducing financial burden and increasing access. The syllabus is based on the understanding of subject at class XII level.
