Will the Minister OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government has released funds to the municipalities in the State of Andhra Pradesh in line with the recommendations of the Fourteenth Finance Commission;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government proposes to increase the municipalities in the country including in Andhra Pradesh; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Yes, Madam.
(b): For the year 2015-16, the Fourteenth Finance Commission has recommended Basic Grant of Rs. 348.92 crore for the urban local bodies, to the State of Andhra Pradesh to be released in two instalments, in June and October. The first instalment of Basic Grant of Rs. 174.46 crore was released by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance to Andhra Pradesh on 30-06-2015 and the release of second instalment is subject to receipt of utilisation certificate and fulfilment of associated conditionalities by the State Government.
(c) & (d): No. Madam. The matter comes under respective State Governments.
