(a) to (c) : Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows from individual NRIs
in India have shown an upward trend in April-December, 2011, after a
decline in the two preceding years. However, private transfer receipts
and Overseas Indiansâ deposits in banks have been increasing over the years.
(d) :The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs has set up an organization,
namely, Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC) to facilitate potential
NRI investors that desire to invest in India. OIFC has organized several
Investment and Interactive Meets / Road shows in different countries and
also organised âMarket Placesâ during the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) in
India. An electronic portal has also been launched by the Ministry to reply
to the queries of potential overseas investors by OIFC and its knowledge
partners to promote and facilitate economic engagement by Overseas Indians.
The annual PBDs and regional PBDs also provide platforms for facilitation
of investment by overseas Indians.
