(a) to (e) : Yes Madam. For encouraging coordination between the Industry and academia, the
Uchhatar Avishkar Yojana (UAY) has been launched. Under this project, industry sponsored
research projects would be taken up by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Funding of
these projects are shared on 1:3 ratio by the Industry and the Government. So far, 92 such
projects for Rs. 282.65 Cr have been sanctioned.
Apart from this, the Impacting Research Innovation and Technology (IMPRINT) has been
launched to attune the R&D efforts in premier educational institutions to the requirements of
the society and the industry.
Research parks have been sanctioned in (6) premier institutions which operate on the
principles of private-public cooperation for better R & D work.
