comprehensive change in research work in the wake of the World Trade Organisation
(WTO) directives;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to (c): The Indian Council of Agricultural Research continually updates its
research programmes keeping in view the changes in global economic environment and
international agreements, including provisions of the WTO agreements, IPR regime and
sanitary and phytosanitary requirements. The Government is in agreement with the
direction of the ICAR’s research.
