Question : PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN RAJDHANI EXPRESS



(a) whether there is a steep increase in the passenger traffic in the Rajdhani Express running between Bangalore and New Delhi;

(b) if so, whether the Government have any proposal to make this train four days in a week into a daily train;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not , the reasons therefor?

(a) During the period April 2001 to October 2001, the number of passengers booked has indicated an approximate increase of only 6 % and 10 % on Train Nos. 2429 Bangalore-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express and 2430 Nizamuddin- Bangalore Rajdhani Express respectively, in comparison to the corresponding period of previous year.

(d): Due to operational and resource constraints.
