Question : PROGRESS UNDER IAY



(a) whether the progress achieved under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) is satisfactory in the country including Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of funds allocated, utilized under the scheme during the last three years and the current year, State/UT and year-wise; and

(d) the measures taken by the Government to achieve the targets set under the scheme?

(a) & (b): Under IAY, steady progress is being made across the country including Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The detail of the progress of house construction is given at Annexure-I.

(c) : The State-wise detail of fund allocated and utilized under the scheme is given at Annexure-II

(d): Monitoring to ensure completion of houses is done by reviewing of progress in PRC meetings on quarterly basis, State Coordinating Officers meeting on monthly basis and through Area Officer’s visits and National Level Monitors visits to the States. Additionally the progress is also monitored by stage wise photographs uploaded in IAY-MIS Awaassoft. The States are also advised to ensure the completion of house construction by interaction of field staff with beneficiary and regular follow up.
