Question : SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MINORITIES

(a) whether the Government has any scheme to provide scholarships for minorities in Central and State Institutes of Professional Education;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes to increase scholarships for minorities in professional institutions; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) In pursuance of the announcement made by the Finance Minister in his Budget Speech 2006-07, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has formulated a of Merit-cum-Means based scholarship scheme for 20000 students belonging to minority communities.
