(a) the prescribed number of students in Maharashtra under the National Service Scheme (NSS);
(b) whether the Maharashtra Government has proposed to increase the said strength of the students;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government so far for approving the said proposal along with the outcome thereof?

(a) At present, the total allocated strength of National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers in the State of Maharashtra is 327700.
(b) The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has not received any proposal from Government of Maharashtra to increase the number of volunteers.
(c) & (d): Do not arise.
