(a) the number of people benefited under the various initiatives of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY2.0) like Short Term Training (STT), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Special Project (SP) during the last five years;
(b) the state and district-wise details thereof; and
(c) the number of “rozgar melas” or job fairs organized by the MSDE & NSDC and the State-wise placement details thereof including Karur district in Tamil Nadu?
(a) and (b) Under Skill India Mission, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing a flagship scheme known as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2016-20 with an objective to provide skilling to one crore people under Short Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) across the country for four years i.e. 2016-2020 with an outlay of 12,000 crore. PMKVY 2016-20 has two components known as Centrally Sponsored Centrally Managed (CSCM) being implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Centrally Sponsored State Managed (CSSM) being implemented by State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs) of the States / UTs popularly known as State- Engagement Component of PMKVY (2016-20). As on 11.11.2019, 69.03 lakh (approx.) candidates have been trained in the country under PMKVY 2016-20. The state wise details of enrolled, trained, placed candidates under CSCM & CSSM component of PMKVY (2016-20) are given at Annexure I, II, III and IV.
(c) Rozgar Melas are being conducted under the aegis of MSDE. PMKVY 2016-20 Scheme incentivises Training Centres (TCs) for facilitating placement of the trained/skilled candidates. TCs are mandated to organise placement/Rozgar Mela and to ensure participation of local industry with the diverse sector of the country. From April’18 to Oct’19, 1198 Rozgar Melas have been organized with participation from numerous employers. Out of these, 42 Rozgar melas have been organized in Tamil Nadu. In these melas 4,91,644 number of candidates have been registered, out of which 2,17,792 candidates have been shortlisted.
