(a) whether the stipend amount to Scheduled Castes students is not being disbursed in time
and a suitable mechanism needs to be put in place to ensure timely allocation of funds by the
Union Government to the States for disbursement of amount of scholarship each month from the
beginning of the academic year; and
(b) if so, the steps being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b) This Ministry administers a central sponsored scheme of post matric scholarship for
SC students and the scheme is implemented through State Govemments/UT administration. The
disbursement of scholarship amount to students is also done by State Governments/UTs
administration. Instructions have been issued to State GovemmentAJTs administration from
time to time for disbursement of scholarship in time.
