(a) to (e) The primary responsibility of disaster management rests with the State Governments. To supplement their efforts, financial assistance is provided to the affected States from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) as per laid down procedure for management of relief necessitated by notified natural disasters. As per the information received from Government of Maharashtra, some fishermen have lost their fishing nets and fishing vessels have been either fully or partially damaged due to Cyclone Tauktae. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India constituted an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT), which had visited the affected areas of Maharashtra and assessed the damages caused due to cyclone. As per the reports of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), 1215 boats & 21,836 nets have been lost due to Cyclone Tauktae in Maharashtra. Financial assistance of Rs. 92.37 crore has been sought by Maharashtra. The Central Government released the first installment of Central share of SDRF for 2021-22 amounting to Rs. 8873.60 crore on 29th April 2021 in advance to all States, including the cyclone affected States.
