Question : Proposals for Poverty Alleviation

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of proposals received from the States for poverty alleviation and employment generation opportunities under various schemes during the last three years and current year, State-wise;

(b) the details of sanctioned and pending proposals and the reasons for their pendency; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government for approval of the pending proposals?

(a) to (c) : The Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation had been implementing Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) since 1997 which has been restructured as National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) since September, 2013. SJSRY/NULM is a centrally sponsored scheme which is implemented through State/UT governments. The funds are released as grants-in-aid to State/UT governments every year subject to receipt of audited expenditure report and utilization certificate as per provisions of General Financial Rules (GFR) 2005. No specific proposals are required to be submitted by the States/UTs. Details of funds allocated and released to the States/UTs during the last three years and the current year are given in the Annexure.
