(a) & (b) Coaches of Sports Authority of India (SAI) are provided training in India and abroad to upgrade their knowledge as part of Coach Development Programme. Coaches of various sports disciplines are given training which is organised by the respective Federations from time to time. As part of the Annual Calendar of Training and Competition (ACTC), which is prepared in consultation with concerned National Sports Federations (NSFs), training of coaches is also being approved which is being funded under the Scheme of Human Resource Development in Sports of the Ministry. A total of 88 coaches belonging to various sports disciplines have been nominated during the last one year for advance level training course.
(c) Olympians and Para-Olympians are given direct employment as coaches. Result oriented coaches are also taken on deputation in SAI. Services of coaches working in other Ministries/ Departments are also being taken as National Coaches for various National Camps. A total of 20 Olympian and 10 Para- Olympians have been appointed as coaches in various disciplines in SAI.
