Question : Whitefield-Hindupur Railway Line

(a) the present status of Whitefield-Hindupur Railway line in Karnataka;


(b) whether any funds have been allocated/released for the said railway line; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a): On Whitefield-Hindupur rail route, Whitefield-Krishnarajapuram & Channasandra-Yelahanka sections are double Broad Gauge lines. Further, work on Yelahanka-Penukonda via Hindupur doubling and Bangalore Cantonment-Krishnarajapuram-Whitefield 3rd & 4th line have been taken up.


(b) and (c): Yelahanka-Penukonda doubling project (121 Km) was sanctioned in 2015-16. Latest anticipated cost of the project is ` 958.37 crores and Budget Outlay of ` 132 crores has been made for this project during 2019-20.


Bangalore Cantonment-Krishnarajapuram-Whitefield 3rd & 4th line project (37.89 Km) was sanctioned in March, 2018. Latest anticipated cost of the project is ` 493 crores and Budget Outlay of ` 51 crores has been made for this project during 2019-20.
