THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES (SHRI VINCENT H. PALA)
(a) & (b): As per the information furnished by the State Government of Bihar and Ganga
Flood Control Commission (GFCC), construction of a barrage on the river Teesta for hydel power
generation has been done by Government of West Bengal through National Hydro Power Corporation
Ltd. (NHPC) but the escape channel has not been constructed to discharge water after power
generation into the Teesta river. The discharge after hydel power generation is being released
