(a)As per information available, there are 366 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) as on 31.03.2020, in the countryof which 8 CPSEs are in Chhattisgarh. The details of continuously loss incurring CPSEs during 2017-18 to 2019-20,Statewise including Chhattisgarh,areprovided at Annexure.
(b to d)Governmenthas notified in February, 2021, the New Public Sector Enterprises (PSE) Policy, under which public sector commercial enterprises have beenclassified into Strategic and Non-Strategic Sectors. In Strategic sectors, bare minimum presence of the existing public sector commercial enterprises at holding company level will be retained under government control. The remaining enterprises in a strategic sector will be considered for privatisation or merger or subsidiarization with another PSE or for closure. PSEs in Non-Strategic sectors shall be considered for privatisation, where feasible, otherwise such enterprises shall be considered for closure.Any decision to set up new CPSEs is taken by the sectoral line Ministries/Departments after taking into consideration the needs and commercial viability and any extant policy of the Government.
(e) Employment in CPSEs depends upon their requirement as per their expansion / investment plan and the respective Board takes appropriate decision in this regard.
