Question : FEES FOR RADIO DIAGNOSTIC TESTS



(a) whether the AIIMS raised fees for radio-diagnostic test rendering the poor patients from availing the treatment at AIIMS;

(b) if so, the fees hiked by AIIMS viz-a-viz other Central Government hospitals in the capital;

(c) whether any directives have been issued by the Government to AIIMS authority for reversing the existed fees; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) All India Institute of Medical Sciences has been set up as an Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament. The charges of a few of Radio-diagnostic investigations have been increased due to increase in the cost of consumables and drastic upsurge in the patient load and it is not comparable with other Central Government hospitals.

(c) No Sir.

(d) Does not arise.
