(a) whether the Government proposes to install Point of Sale (PoS) devices in Fair Price Shops (FPS) and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the total number of fair price shops in each State including Andhra Pradesh;
(c) the number of Food Corporation of India (FCI) storehouses in each State including Andhra Pradesh; and
(d) whether the Government plans to set up more fair price shops and FCI centres in the country in the coming years and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): To plug leakages and diversion of foodgrains in Public Distribution System (PDS), this Department in association with States/UTs is implementing the scheme on End-to-End Computerisation of PDS Operations including automation of Fair Price Shops (FPSs) through installation of electronic Point of Sale (ePoS) devices in all FPSs for identification of entitled persons and households for delivery of foodgrains, based on ‘Aadhaar number’ or other authentication tools, specified by the Central Government from time to time. Out of nearly 5.33 lakh FPSs across the country, about 3.88 lakh FPSs have been automated so far. A statement showing State/UT-wise number of total and automated FPSs including Andhra Pradesh is at Annexure-I.
(c) & (d): As on 31.12.2018, a total of 2,006 warehouses (553-owned & 1,453-hired) are with FCI across India including Andhra Pradesh. State-wise details are at Annexure-II. In addition, Steel Silo storages with bulk handling facility are also being constructed. Till date locations for silos with capacity of 82.75 LMT have been approved and State wise breakup is at Annexure-III.
