(a) whether the Government have received a proposal for setting up of CAD Centre for Baluchari craftsmen of Bishnupur in the District of Bankura, West Bengal;
(b) if so, whether this project has been sanctioned and necessary funds have been released for the project; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) No, Sir. However during the year 1995-96, National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS) New Delhi submitted a proposal for setting up of Computer Aided Design Centre (CAD) for development of Baluchari Sarees, Bankura District, West Bengal. The project was sanctioned accordingly for the total cost of Rs. 5.37 lakhs. So far, a sum of Rs.4.37 lakhs has been released to NISTADS under the Project.
