Question : RISK ALLOWANCE TO COAL WORKERS



(a) whether risk allowance is not being paid to the labourers by the Coal India Limited (CIL), its ancillary companies and the private sector coal extracting companies and if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government in this regard; and

(b) the efforts being made by the Government to pay risk allowance to all the labourers working in the coal mines?

(a)&(b) Risk allowance is not being paid to the workers of Coal India Limited and its subsidiary Companies. However, Difficulty Allowancewhich as agreed in Bi-partite forum under National Coal Wage Agreement-IX (NCWA-IX) is paid. Underground allowance is also being paid to all employees working in underground mines.
