(a) to (c): The Disaster Management Act, 2005 lays down the institutional framework
for effective management of disasters. The Act provides for taking necessary measures
in respect of all phases of disaster management cycle including rehabilitation and
reconstruction. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) established
under the Act is mandated to lay down policies on disaster management. NDMA is
finalizing the National Policy on Disaster Management including the aspects of
rehabilitation and reconstruction.
