Question : Changes in Rules Printed on Tickets

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state whether the Government proposes to change the rules printed on the railway tickets immediately in case the rules of the railways change as the people are not aware of such rules and thus deprived of its benefits?

Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS

(SHRI MANOJ SINHA)

Changing of rules is a continuous process based on the feedback received. The changes made in the policies are given due publicity through all possible means for information of general public. Due to paucity of space, it is, however, not feasible to display these rules on the front of the ticket. On the reverse of the ticket certain general instructions are printed. These instructions are modified as and when it becomes necessary. Since the blank ticket rolls are printed in advance it is not feasible to print the instructions immediately after changing of any rules.
