(a) whether the Government propose to provide a service code for the posts of Imam,
Hifeez and Nizarath declared as employees of the Waqf Boards;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to impress upon the Waqf Boards to
implement the scheme to provide salaries and perks to Imams, Hifeez and
Nizaraths as approved by the Supreme Court?

(a) to (d) In pursuance of the direction of the Supreme Court, a scheme for remuneration
to Imams, Mauzzins was prepared which provided for categorization of Imams,
model scale of remuneration, factor to be considered for determining the
quantum/scale of payment as well as administration of the Scheme.
Implementation of the scheme is the responsibility of the concerned Board of
Wakfs. The State Governments are being pursued for taking action accordingly.
