(a)&(b): In the background of the funds to be established
at the State and Urban Local Body levels for provision of
Basic Services to the Urban Poor, a basic services to the
urban poor fund is contemplated at the national level,
seeking support of multilateral and bilateral agencies.
The objective of this fund is to provide financial support
for basic minimum amenities like water supply and
sanitation for the urban poor/slum-dwellers in a time-bound
manner.
