Question : Child Protection Committee


(a) whether Child Protection Committees have been formed at the Gram Panchayat/ Block/District/State levels in various States including in Odisha and Maharashtra;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether Union Government has been giving any assistance to States for functioning of such Committees and if so, the details thereof and the criteria fixed for such assistance;
(e) the details of funds allocated, released and utilized by various States during each of the last three years, State/UT-wise; and
(f) whether there is any proposal to enhance the quantum of remuneration and the other emolument for the staff engaged under the Mission Vatsalya and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e) : The guidelines for Child Protection Services Scheme provides for Block level Child Protection Committees and Village level Child Protection Committees to recommend and monitor implementation of Child Protection Services at Block and Village level respectively. As these Committees are advisory in nature, the requirements of funds and human resources are not there. States/UTs allocate and release funds to these committees at their own level as per requirement.
