Question : CONDITION OF CGHS DISPENSARIES HOSPITALS



(a) Whether the Government are aware of the pathetic condition including shortage of doctors in CGHS dispensaries/hospitals in the country particularly in Delhi;

(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government are contemplating to revamp the functioning of the CGHS dispensaries/hospitals;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

No Sir. The CGHS dispensaries/hospitals in the country are not in a pathetic condition. As far as the availability of doctors is concerned, nearly 90% of the sanctioned posts are filled up. As regards availability of medicines also, adequate number of generic and proprietary items have been made available in the dispensaries. Besides the medicines which are not available at the dispensaries are made available to the beneficiaries through authorized Local Chemists.
