(a) the number of pharmaceutical companies in India functioning with foreign
collaboration as on 31 March, 2011 State-wise;
(b) the total production (in rupees) of these companies during the last three years
and the margin of profit earned by these companies during the said period;
and
(c) the steps being taken by the Government to regulate the prices of drugs
manufactured by these companies?

(a): The information regarding number of pharmaceutical companies in India functioning with foreign collaboration is
not available with the Department of Pharmaceuticals. The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, which is
concerned with the subject matter of Foreign Direct Investment has, however, informed that only the data regarding
remittance-wise FDi equity inflows recorded by the Reserve Bank of India is available with them.
(b) and (c): In view of the reply to (a) above, Do not arise.
