(a) the total number of oil wells in the country;
(b) whether the people of these area have been given proper employment in these oil wells;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps being taken by the Union Government to ensure that the people of these areas
are given employment in these oil wells?

(a) Currently there are 5898 oil wells in the country.
(b) to (d) National oil companies issue notifications from time to time to local employment
exchanges falling within the operational areas, notifying vacancies for both skilled and
unskilled categories following statutory guidelines for reservations.
