Question : ESTABLISHMENT OF MANGO PULP EXTRACTION INDUSTRIES

:

(a) whether mango is grown in abundance in the State of Madhya Pradesh;

(b) if so, whether the Madhya Pradesh Government have made any recommendations or consulted the Union Government for the establishment of Mango pulp extraction industry in the Satna, Reewa, Panna, Katni, Sidhi and Shehdol districts;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Union Government propose to encourage industrialists to establish such industries in these districts; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): As per National Horticulture Board, the production of mango in Madhya Pradesh is 75,150 metric tonne during the year 2000 – 2001.


(b) & (c): No such proposal has been received in the Ministry of Food processing Industries.


(d) & (e): The Ministry of Food Processing Industries provides financial assistance through its Plan Schemes to Private Sector Industries, Non-Governmental Organizations, Cooperatives, Public Sector Undertakings, Human Resource Development Institutions, Research & Development Institutions etc. for the development of processed food sector including industries based on mango pulp. The schemes of the Ministry are project specific and not State specific.
