Question : Upgradation of Airports in Madhya Pradesh

(a) the total number of airports under Airport authority of India in Madhya Pradesh;

(b) the time by which Indore Airport is likely to be upgraded to international level alongwith the action taken in this regard;

(c) the number of airports proposed to be upgraded to international level in Madhya Pradesh;

(d) the time by which international flights are likely to be introduced after upgradation of Indore Airport; and

(e) the time by which visa facility is likely to be extended to Indore Airport?

(a): Airports Authority of India (AAI) owns and maintains 8 airports in Madhya Pradesh.;

(b) to (d): Indore airport has been notified as Customs Airport to handle International flight operations. AAI has upgraded Bhopal, Indore and Khajuraho Airports in Madhya Pradesh for simultaneous operation of Domestic and International passengers by constructing new Integrated terminal buildings and other requisite facilities for international operations. International flights are already operating at Indore Airport. ;;

(e) At present, no such proposal is pending for consideration of the Government.
