Question : Modern Fishermen Housing Scheme

(a) the amount of funds being allocated by the Centre for the construction of dwelling units for fishermen under themodern Fishermen Housing Scheme;
(b) the number of houses constructed under the abovesaid scheme during the last five years, State-wise;
(c) the amount of funds being provided by the Centre and the States respectively under the aforesaid scheme for housing;
(d) whether the Ministry has carried out any survey to find out the number of fishermen without permanent houses, if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the date by which the said houses are likely to be made available to all the homeless people of fishermen community in Chhattisgarh?

(a) to (c): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries’ which has a component “National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen” with a sub-component namely, Housing for fishers. This sub-component(Housing for fishers) is being implemented in alignment with PradhanMantriAwasYojana (PMAY-G) guidelines, wherein, financial assistance @ Rs. 1.20 lakh is provided to fishermen for General States and @ Rs. 1.30 lakh is provided to fishermen in Himalayan and North Eastern States. The financial assistance provided in the aforesaid component is shared in the ratio of 60:40 for General States and 90:10 for Himalayan and North Eastern States while 100% for Union Territories.During the last five years, funds of Rs. 104.69 crores have been released to various States/ Union Territories for construction of 18,920 Nos. of fishermen houses. The details of State-wise number of fishermen houses constructed and funds released by this Departmentto various States/Union Territories under the said scheme during the last five years is annexed.
(d) to (e). Fisheries is a State subject and Government of India provides support to State Governments/ Union Territories, including Chhattisgarh based on proposals received and availability of budgetary allocation.Further, State Government of Chhattisgarh has informed that the houses are likely to be made available to all the homeless people of fishermen community in Chhattisgarh,in the next five years.
