(a) whether some of the State Governments have agreed to provide land free of cost for laying of rail lines in their respective States and if so, the names of such States;
(b) the names of States who have provided land free of cost;
(c) the details of projects whose cost has escalated due to non-availability of land either on payment or free of cost and the details of rail line projects that could not be taken up for development as a result thereof;
(d) the details of the projects which have been withdrawn due to not making land free of cost by the States; and
(e) whether the Union Government is considering to start these rail line projects on their own and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?
