(a) to(d): The Government has constituted an Expert Group to review the existing items and norms of assistance for Calamity Relief Fund (CRF)/National Calamity Contingency Fund (NCCF). The Group comprises of representatives from the Central Ministries/Departments of Finance, Home Affairs, Agriculture, Rural Development, Planning Commission, Directorate General of Civil Defence and the Relief Commissioners of some of the States.

To facilitate a comprehensive review of the existing items and norms of assistance, all the State Governments and concerned Central Ministries have been requested to send their views/suggestions for consideration of the Expert Group.

The Expert Group is likely to meet shortly. The Group after detailed deliberations based on the views/suggestions received from various States and Central Ministries/Departments will prepare its report. The Report of the Group will be placed before the High Level Committee for approval before the revised list of items and norms of assistance from CRF/NCCF are notified. This task is proposed to be completed with due expedition.
