States including Tamilnadu and the Union Territory of Pondicherry;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the number of SIMI activists arrested or killed by security
forces, State-wise; and
(c) the details of steps taken by the Union Government to check such illegal activities in the

REGARDING “ACTIVITIES OF SIMIâ€.
(a) Activities of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) have come to notice in various States
including Tamil Nadu. However, as per reports, no significant activity has been noticed in the
union Territory of Puducherry.
(b) According to available information, the number of SIMI activists arrested in various States
during the last 3 years (till September, 2008) is as under ;-
Data regarding number of SIMI activists killed by security forces is not being compiled and maintained, centrally.
