(a) Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India in association with Government of Goa organizes the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) at Goa from 20th to 30th November every year. The details relating to the festival are given below :-
i. The festival features various sections such as International Competition, Cinema of the World, Indian Panorama, retrospectives, tributes and master classes/ workshops.
ii. Awards under best film, best director, best male actor, best female actor, special jury prize categories are given for the films which compete in the International Competition Section. Life time achievement award, centenary awards are also given away during the festival.
iii. Highlights of the festival for the past three years are given below :
42nd IFFI – 2011 No. of countries participated : 65 Total films screened : 252 No. of delegates attended : 7820 43rd IFFI – 2012 No. of countries participated : 67 Total films screened : 331 No. of delegates attended : 8772 44th IFFI – 2013 No. of countries participated : 75 Total films screened : 334 No. of delegates attended : 11660
(b) to (d) The Indian Panorama Section of IFFI showcases films produced in different languages and from different regions depicting the life and culture of different sections of the society including tribals and minority. Since last year, a special section on North East has been included in the IFFI which showcases the films produced in the North Eastern region of the country.
