Question : Upgradation of the Bagdogra Airport

(a) the status of the works relating to expansion and upgradation of the Bagdogra airport;
(b) whether the funds have been allocated for the expansion of the airport and if so, the details thereof including the budget allocation for each stage of the work;
(c) whether there is any delay in the progress of the works and if so, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the time by which the expansion work of Bagdogra airport is likely to be started along with the time for its completion?

(a) to (d): Airports Authority of India has planned development of a new Civil Enclave at Bagdogra Airport at an estimated cost of Rs.1884 crore. After obtaining various clearances from nodal departments, the work will commence in December, 2022 with probable date of completion in June, 2025.
